Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that returns that search result. Our servers do not retain a copy of the submitted search. A message sent to us contains only the material included in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems create ordinary logs such as IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We use aggregated information to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, resolve problems, measure traffic, and improve its content. We do not sell a visitor list or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Tex. Bus. & Com. Code ยง541.001 et seq., gives covered consumers rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out in defined circumstances, subject to statutory exceptions. Because this reference keeps very little visitor data, a request usually involves the contact mailbox and any applicable server log. Use the Contact page to make a request. Texas, county, and city public records remain under the control of their custodians, so a request to remove or correct one must go to the office holding it.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
